Good Schools & Small Businesses

By strengthening both our schools and small businesses, we create a virtuous cycle where well-educated residents can find good jobs locally, and successful local businesses can invest back into our community.

The Challenge

Worcester's education system must prepare students for an evolving economy, while our small businesses—the backbone of our local economy—need support to compete against large corporations. Both require strategic investment and policy changes to thrive.

My Vision

A Worcester with schools that equip students with practical skills for success and a vibrant small business ecosystem that creates good jobs and builds community wealth.

My Plan

Comprehensive Education

  • Advocate for curriculum that includes financial literacy, civics education, arts, STEM, and social-emotional health

  • Support increased mental health resources in schools to address the whole child

  • Push for smaller class sizes and better teacher compensation to attract and retain quality educators

  • Champion multilingual education programs that reflect our diverse community

Vocational and Technical Education

  • Increase investment in Worcester Technical High School and vocational programs

  • Develop partnerships between schools and local businesses to create apprenticeship opportunities

  • Support career pathway programs that connect education directly to job opportunities

  • Advocate for adult education programs that help workers transition to in-demand fields

Small Business Support

  • Create a district-specific small business grant program targeting underserved entrepreneurs

  • Push for reduced commercial taxes and fees for truly small, locally-owned businesses

  • Streamline permitting processes to reduce bureaucratic barriers to business creation

  • Support "buy local" initiatives that encourage residents to shop at neighborhood businesses

Economic Growth with Community Benefits

  • Oppose corporate handouts that don't provide clear benefits to Worcester residents

  • Require community benefits agreements for larger development projects

  • Support the creation of worker-owned cooperatives and other alternative business models

  • Prioritize development that creates quality jobs with benefits and advancement opportunities

In addition to your vote, I need your financial support today.

Campaigns are community efforts, and I need your backing in order to reach every voter in the district.
