Housing & Affordability

Worcester cannot become another Boston. With thoughtful policies and strong community advocacy, we can create housing opportunities that serve everyone, not just the wealthy or well-connected.

The Challenge

Worcester families are struggling with rapidly increasing housing costs. Out-of-town developers are making record profits while long-time residents face displacement. Meanwhile, tax incentives flow to corporations while everyday residents shoulder the burden of rising property taxes.

My Vision

A Worcester where families can afford to stay and thrive in their neighborhoods, with accessible paths to home ownership and protection from predatory development and rent increases.

My Plan

Expand Home Ownership Opportunities

  • Strengthen and expand the first-time home buyer program to help more Worcester residents achieve the dream of home ownership

  • Create incentives specifically for residents who want to purchase homes in the neighborhoods where they currently rent

  • Develop financial literacy programs focused on home buying and mortgage education

Protect Existing Residents

  • Implement stronger tenant protections against unfair evictions and excessive rent increases

  • Support rent stabilization measures that prevent displacement while allowing reasonable returns

  • Ensure seniors can retire with dignity by expanding tax relief programs for older homeowners on fixed incomes

Responsible Development

  • End tax giveaways to corporate developers who don't provide community benefits

  • Champion inclusionary zoning requirements that mandate affordable units in new developments

  • Prioritize development proposals from local investors who understand and care about our community

Transparency and Accountability

  • I pledge never to accept campaign contributions from developers with business before the city

  • Push for clear public reporting on all tax incentives granted to development projects

  • Advocate for community benefits agreements that ensure developments serve neighborhood needs

In addition to your vote, I need your financial support today.

Campaigns are community efforts, and I need your backing in order to reach every voter in the district.
