Veterans, Seniors & People with Disabilities

As someone with lived experience navigating Worcester as a person with a disability, I bring unique insight to these issues and will be a tireless advocate for policies that promote inclusion and independence for all residents.

The Challenge

Our veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities face unique challenges including financial strain, housing insecurity, accessibility barriers, and social isolation. As someone who lost my ability to walk during college, I understand these challenges personally and am committed to addressing them.

My Vision

A Worcester where veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities can live with dignity, independence, and full participation in community life, with services and infrastructure designed to meet their specific needs.

My Plan

Tax Relief and Financial Support

  • Enhance and expand the tax work-off program specifically for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities

  • Create clear pathways for eligible residents to access existing tax exemption programs

  • Advocate for additional financial support programs at the city level

  • Work with community partners to provide financial counseling services

Housing Solutions

  • Support zoning changes to allow more Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), enabling multi-generational living and aging in place

  • Advocate for universal design standards in new housing developments

  • Increase funding for home modification programs that allow residents to stay in their homes safely

  • Partner with developers to create more accessible housing units throughout the district

Community Connection and Services

  • Improve programming and recreational activities at senior living developments like Lake Ave Towers

  • Create a centralized resource center connecting residents with available services

  • Support transportation services specifically designed for seniors and people with disabilities

  • Establish a regular community forum for veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities to directly share their concerns with city leadership

Accessibility Improvements

  • Conduct a comprehensive accessibility audit of public buildings and spaces in District 2

  • Prioritize sidewalk repairs and curb cut improvements in areas frequented by seniors and people with disabilities

  • Ensure all public events include accessibility considerations from planning through execution

  • Advocate for enhanced para-transit services throughout Worcester

In addition to your vote, I need your financial support today.

Campaigns are community efforts, and I need your backing in order to reach every voter in the district.
